Selecting the Workbench 3.1 disks. 1) Go the Disk Drives tab and enable all four drives. 2) Select the Install disk for DF0: and the Workbench disk for DF1: by clicking the '.' For the rest of the drives, just insert any of the other disks. 3) Set Floppy drive emulation speed to 800% to make the installation faster. The biggest help was that it also came with the Workbench 3.1 discs in ADF format. WinUAE could read this new card straight away and I copied the Workbench ADFs to a PC folder that WinUAE was using as a drive. This was great as I now had a bootable Workbench Install disc with HDToolbox. Boot off your Workbench disk, insert a floppy disk in DF1:, open a command Shell and type Install DF1: which will copy the book block on to the disk. Then type MakeDir DF1:S to create the Script directory. Workbench 3.1 Disk Set Cloanto Edition. Amiga Operating System Workbench 3.1 by Cloanto. For all Amiga models with Kickstart 3.x and disk drive unit. Contains 6 diskettes: Install, Workbench, Locale, Extras, Fonts and Storage 3.1. 4.7 star rating. Either select your single Workbench disk – or, if you’re using the full Workbench 3.1 set – insert disk 2 of 6. Press return to insert the disk. If you chose a Workbench 3.1 disk, you’ll be asked if you want to upgrade to Workbench 3.1. Type y and return if you have all six disks, otherwise, type n and return.

This original Amiga OS 3.1 disk set by Cloanto consists of the following six disks:

• Install (bootable)
• Workbench (bootable)

Workbench 3.1 remains true to the look and feel and the feature set ofthe last Workbench by Commodore/Amiga, including support for 3.0 ROMs andthe ability to boot from floppy disks. For maximum compatibility, no newROM functionality is provided in the disk set.
The floppy disk set can be used alone (to boot and use the system),or to create a new hard disk installation, equivalent to the Amiga ForeverClassic Support hard disk image. Enhancements include the installationof workbench.library, Installer 44.10 and FastFileSystem 45.9.
Additionally, in a careful balance of preservation, restoration andinnovation, fixes and features of Workbench 3.1 include:

• Dates were preserved, while file attributes and comments were restored (relative to the distribution by ESCOM, Village Tronic and Vesalia Computer)
• Updated C/Version command (Y2K patch)
• Addition of Libs/workbench.library (for A4000T 3.1 ROMs and 3.X ROMs)
• Updated S/Startup-Sequence (conditional SetPatch, for 3.X ROMs)
• Updated Installer 44.10 and FastFileSystem 45.9 (to support larger disks)
• Installer itself is now part of the system installation (inside the Utilities directory)

Workbench 3.1 remains compatible with 3.0 and3.1 Amiga ROMs,and is additionally compatible with 3.X ROMs as used inAmiga Forever.
