I belief 'Marantz HiFi Remote' is the newer app, but some older devices are only supported by the older 'Marantz Remote App' The Marantz hifi remote works with the dedicated two channel streamers. The 'old' is not old but simply controls the multi channel receivers (and can also control the two channel channel pieces such as the NA6005). If you have problems related to controlling your product with the app:
- Make sure that the handheld device and the Marantz product you want to control are connected on the same network and that the network standby on the Marantz product is activated and a network connection is established (test, for example by listening to Internet radio and music streaming from DLNA media servers)
- Please ensure that after installing the app or a new version of operating software on your handheld device that it is powered off and on again
- Please make sure that 'WMM (Wi-Fi MultiMedia)' and 'UPnP' are enabled in your router (if these options are present on your router)?
- If the app, even after several refreshes on the devices page, displays the error 'Connection failed. Please check the device.' Amend the following settings on the Marantz product - 'Upgrade Notification' (only A / V receiver) and 'Update Notification' to 'Off'. Then disconnect the Marantz product from the mains, switch it on again and select a network source. Wait until the connection to the network is back up and try to use the app again.
- You can also try to manually enter the IP address of the Marantz unit in the app and try to connect then to the unit. If this works, your network configuration may block some UPnP ports necessary for browsing through media servers, detecting units, etc. We then recommend to check again if there is some device in your network environment (access point, repeater, router) that does not forward UPnP commands.
