Garmin G1000 Simulator – Garmin does not offer a G1000 simulator app directly for iPad, but a company called Simionic has produced their own version to help you practice operation of the system configured for Cessna single-engine airplanes. It includes controls to operate each button and knob to help you learn the system and a full navigation. Garmin G1000 is an integrated avionic system used in many small aircrafts. This simulator simulates a primary flight display (PFD) which is used in Cessna 182T, 172S, 172R and 206H.

So it is 2018, almost 2019. New stuff comes out every year. Does anyone have any recommendations for contemporary PC-based G1000 training software ?
There is a lot of G1000 training stuff available. I can’t figure out what to buy. Also, if you have a book or DVD recommendation to supplement your training package recommendations, please share that as well.

I’d eventually be training in a Cessna 172 as well as a Red Bird with G1000 emulation. I figured a good way to prepare (and save money) would be to start off by investing in a good Simulator PC training package.
Usage
- PFD Only
All the PFD functions are functional when running on iPad. Flight controls are imbeded in the app. - MFD Only
All the MFD functions are functional when running on iPad. Engine status are emulated by the app itself. But there will not be any flight controls nor will the autopilot take any effect. - PFD with FSX/X-Plane
PFD will run as an instrument of FSX/X-Plane. Nav/Comm frequencies, target heading/altitude can be set either from FSX/X-Plane or from the app. Autopilot and flight director is controlled only by the app. - PFD + MFD
PFD and MFD will work together just like a real set of G1000. - PFD + MFD with FSX/X-Plane
PFD and MFD will work together as if the aircraft in FSX/X-Plane has a real set of G1000.
